An alpaca jumper brushed until the yarn lifts into a soft halo, cut wide through the body with shoulders that drop a long way down the arm.
Warmth that does not weigh anything
The yarn is 78% alpaca, spun fine and then brushed so the fibres stand away from the surface. That halo is the first thing you notice: it catches the light, it buries the stitch, and it holds a great deal of air for very little weight, which is why alpaca does the work of a much heavier jumper. The body is cut generously wide and stops just past the hip bone, so it sits well over a high waistband. The sleeves run long and the ribbed cuffs come down over the hands. A narrow rib holds the round neck, the cuffs and the hem, and there is no fastening anywhere: it goes on over the head and stays where you put it.
Fit
One size, cut very wide. The jumper measures 120 cm all round, so it wears properly oversized on a UK 8 and comfortably loose up to a UK 18. The body is short at 59 cm, sitting just past the hip bone, and the sleeves are long over the hand. Full measurements sit next to the size selector, in the size guide.

A brushed natural fibre behaves like one. It can feel faintly prickly against bare skin at first, it carries a light woollen smell out of the packet, and it will leave a few hairs on a dark coat early on. All three settle with wear.
