A lace dress built in panels, open at the back
Floral lace at the shoulders and the sleeves, a ruched jersey bodice, a band of the same lace at the waist, then a neat ruched skirt. Turn around and the back opens into a wide round cut-out framed in lace. It is a short dress with a great deal going on, and none of it shouts.
The cut
The lace yoke sits high on a round neckline and runs into long, close sleeves that finish at the wrist in an unfinished eyelash edge. Across the bust, a panel of opaque jersey gathers softly at the centre front. Below it, a band of the same floral lace wraps the waist. From there the skirt takes over: ruched at the side seams, close to the body, straight at the hem, well above the knee. There is no zip and no fastening. It pulls on, and the stretch does the rest.
Fit
Cut close, with stretch through the body. The size guide next to the size selector is given in body measurements rather than garment measurements, so read it that way before choosing. Between two sizes, take the larger one. The lace at the yoke, the sleeves and the waist is fine and see-through; the bust panel and the skirt are opaque. If you would rather cover the waist, a plain camisole in the same tone sits underneath without showing.
