A wrap coat that closes on a knot, not a button
There is no fastening down the front of this coat. The two panels cross over and the belt holds them, which is why the line stays unbroken from the collar to the hem. Pull the belt in for a waist, or leave it loose and let the coat fall open over whatever you have on underneath.
The collar is the whole point
It is a deep shawl collar, cut in one continuous curve with no notch and no lapel break, and it folds back wide across both shoulders before finishing in two low points near the waist. Open, it sits like a small cape. Pulled in, it closes right up around the neck. It is also the reason the coat reads as one clean shape from a distance: there is nothing else on the front of it.
The rest is deliberately easy. Dropped shoulders, wide sleeves with deep turn back cuffs, two large patch pockets set low on the front at hip level, and a hem that falls to the lower calf, well below the knee. The cloth is a brushed soft touch coating with a faintly heathered surface, warm to the hand and heavy enough to hang straight rather than flap about in the wind.
One thing to know before you buy. A wrap gives you a waist exactly where you tie it and volume everywhere else. If you want a coat that holds its own line without being belted, this is not that coat.
Fit
Cut generously, so take your usual size. The shoulder seams sit well below the shoulder and the three sizes are close together, which means the belt does most of the shaping: tie it where you want the waist to fall. There is room for a jumper underneath without going up. The sleeves are wide and the cuffs turn back. Full measurements are in the size guide next to the size selector.
