Black jeans cut for their line, not for their distressing
These black jeans are the plain version of the thing: rigid cotton denim, a high waist, a straight leg, and almost nothing else. The wash is a faded charcoal black rather than a flat new black, soft enough to read the weave and the fold lines without any of the sanded patches and whiskering that date a pair fast. The waistband sits high and flat at the natural waist with belt loops, one button and a zip fly, and the front pockets are single curved scoop openings with no rivets and no coin pocket to break the line.
The leg is a true straight: the same width from the top of the thigh down to a plain full-length hem. It breaks once over a boot and falls clean over a flat. Two patch pockets on the back, set high, with a pointed lower edge, and tonal black stitching everywhere, so the eye reads the shape rather than the seams. Wear them with a fine knit and an ankle boot through the week, then with something sharper when the evening asks for it.
Fit
High rise, straight leg, full length. Sized XS to XXXL, which we map to UK 6 to 18 from the maker’s own waist measurements. The denim is rigid with very little give, so it holds its shape rather than stretching to you: take the larger size if you are between two.
