The black trouser, cut clean
Tichborne is the pair you reach for when the day needs a straight answer. A smooth matte twill, high on the waist, with a leg that tapers quietly from the pleat to the hem so the line holds all day. No belt loops, no hardware, nothing to fiddle with: the waistband is a plain band of the same cloth, notched in a small V at the centre front.
Fit
High on the natural waist, with two soft pleats on each side of a flat closed fly, easing into a cigarette leg that narrows by roughly a third between the thigh and the hem. The cloth has no stretch at all, so choose by your waist measurement rather than your usual label, and size up if you are between sizes. - Plain flat waistband cut from the same cloth, notched in a small V at the centre front, with no belt loops and no hardware
- Concealed front zip on a flat fly, with no visible pull
- Two soft pleats on each side of the front and a pressed crease down each leg
- One narrow vertical welt pocket on each side, and a completely plain back
- Plain turned hem, no turn-ups and no split
- Smooth matte woven twill with a fine diagonal grain, woven from polyester for a dense, quiet handle
