Bow Neck Jumper in a Contrast Whipstitch Rib
The Harnhill is a bow neck jumper that does the work of a jumper and a scarf at once. A high stand collar, and a long knitted tie that comes out of the front of it and knots into a soft bow, with two pointed ends left to fall down the front. Nothing to fasten, nothing to arrange. You pull it on and the neck is already finished.
Design and fabric
The body is a ribbed knit of fine to medium gauge, worked in soft-touch brushed yarn with a faint halo that catches the light along each rib. What sets it apart is the edge: a contrast yarn whipstitched by hand over the raw edges, in chocolate on the Cashew and in cream on the Fathom Navy. It runs along the top of the collar, down both sides of the tie and around its points, around both cuffs and along the hem, and it is the only trim on the piece. The sleeves are raglan, so a single line runs from the neckline to the underarm and nothing cuts across the shoulder. The back is plain: the same rib, the same collar, no opening.
How it wears
Cashew is the warm pale oatmeal that sits beside chocolate, cream and denim without being asked twice. Fathom Navy is nearly black until the light finds the blue in it, and the cream stitching is what you notice first. Both read smart enough for a desk and quiet enough for a Saturday, and the tie is the whole outfit on days you cannot be bothered with jewellery.
Fit
A neat fit with a slight stretch in the rib, true to size. The body is short: the hem sits at the waist, between 54 and 56 cm from the shoulder depending on the size, so it is cut to wear with a high waist rather than over the hip. It is not a cropped jumper and it does not sit above the waistband. Full garment measurements for each size are in the Size guide, next to the size selector.
