A burgundy coat, cut long and double-breasted
Burgundy is the colour this autumn keeps coming back to, and a coat is where it makes the most sense. Wide notch lapels, a double-breasted front that closes on four flat matte buttons, and a clean straight body that falls to mid calf. The cloth is a densely woven brushed twill with a fine diagonal line running through it, heavy enough to hang straight and hold the line of the shoulder.
Worn open it reads relaxed. Buttoned, it reads like something you had made. In Claret, and in Pewter and Black for the days burgundy is too much of a statement.
Fit
Cut close for a coat, so it layers cleanly over a fine knit, a shirt or a roll-neck. If you plan to wear it over chunky knitwear, take the next size up. Full measurements are in the size guide next to the size selector.
