Cable Knit Cardigan with a Crew Neck and a Full Button Front
The Oddington is a cable knit cardigan cut neat and short. Narrow rope cables run in close columns down both front panels and the whole length of both sleeves, seven dark horn buttons run from the neckband to the hem, and the hem itself stops at the top of the hip.
Design and fabric
The yarn is fine and densely knitted, with a soft matte surface and only a little give. This is not a chunky knit. Each cable is about two fingers wide and sits between thin flat channels, which keeps the whole cardigan flat enough to wear under a coat. A narrow ribbed band finishes the round neck, the button band runs straight down to a deep ribbed hem, and the cuffs are ribbed to match. The buttons are matte dark brown with four holes, the kind you stop noticing after a week.
How it wears
Creamware is a pale warm off white, the colour of old English cream pottery, and it lifts denim, chocolate and charcoal without going stark. Harbour Grey is a clean neutral grey with no warm cast, which is the harder grey to find and the easier one to wear. Both button up to the neck on their own, and both sit well open over a vest top.
Fit
Cut close through the body with a little ease at the shoulder, and short: the hem sits at the top of the hip. If you like a relaxed fit, or if you are between sizes, take the next size up.
