A denim dress cut long and lean, in an indigo deep enough to read as navy until the light catches the twill.
The cut
An open collar with proper notched revers, short sleeves turned back at a neat cuff, and a waist drawn in with fine ruching either side of the placket. Below it the skirt runs straight and narrow to the ankle, with a slit at the centre front so you can actually walk in it. Polished silver-tone snap buttons down the front, a zip set into the side seam.
How it wears
Loafers and bare ankles while the weather holds, boots and a heavy knit thrown over the top come October. It is the rare denim piece that reads as a dress rather than as jeans.
