A going out top that does most of the work of an outfit. The Winstone is cut from a fine stretch mesh and gathered into a wide pleated shawl collar, which falls in soft folds from a broad neckline across the shoulders and the bust. Below it the body is ruched along both side seams, so the top follows the shape underneath instead of hanging off it.
The cut
Close to the body and short enough to end at the natural waist, which keeps it clean over a high rise trouser or a long skirt. The collar drapes rather than fastens, so it settles a little differently each time you put it on. Long sleeves run from a low dropped armhole down to a plain hemmed cuff.
Fit
- True to size and close fitting, with a lot of give in the mesh
- Ends at the natural waist: 49 cm long in a UK 8, 51 cm in a UK 12 to 14
- Semi sheer where the mesh sits in a single layer, across the shoulders and the upper sleeve. The shawl collar and the ruched body are several layers deep and are not sheer
