A duffle coat cut the traditional way: four horn style toggles on leather look tabs, a hood deep enough to pull up in earnest, and a camel that reads warm brown rather than yellow.
Lined and quilted all the way down
The lining is a diamond quilt in a matching tan, padded and stitched right to the hem, and that is where the weight of this coat comes from. The face cloth is brushed flat and matte with no pattern in it, so the colour holds even across the shoulders and down the sleeve. Two deep patch pockets sit at the hip, and above them a squared panel is topstitched onto each front, answering the pockets below.
Fit
Cut wide through the body with a soft flare to the hem and 114 to 122 cm across the chest, so it goes over a jumper without pulling at the toggles. The shoulder is set in low, the sleeve is full, and a buttoned tab draws in each cuff. The four toggles stop just below the pockets, and from there the front hangs free to the hem.
