A faux fur scarf long enough to wear as a stole
One hundred and ninety centimetres of deep faux fur, banded chestnut and honey the way a fox pelt is banded, so the colour moves as the piece falls instead of sitting flat. Wrapped twice it reads as a collar. Left open across the shoulders it reads as a stole, which is how it earns its place over a slip dress in December.
The pile is dense and springy rather than thin, and the whole length is backed in a warm blush satin, so it slides over a coat instead of catching on it. The edges are closed with a narrow bound seam, which is the reason it keeps its shape rather than splaying.
About the pockets
The maker lists two, and three separate buyers describe using them, one of them wishing they were deeper. They do not show in any photograph, which is exactly what a slit cut into a long pile should do. So we tell you what we know rather than show it: two openings for the hands, set into the lower half of the piece.
