A trench in faux leather, cut to the floor
This one runs past the ankle, and on shorter frames it brushes the ground. The whole trench vocabulary is there, a wide notched collar, epaulette tabs, a storm flap across the back, but the coated finish is soft rather than stiff, so the coat falls in one long unhurried column instead of standing away from you.
Design and fabric
A faux leather with a fine crinkled grain and a low, dry sheen, closer to a soft worn finish than to anything glossy. Raglan sleeves drop the shoulder line and each cuff draws in on a narrow buckled strap. A welt pocket sits low on each hip, with a small looped tab at its base. The back carries a storm flap across the shoulders and a long vent at the centre, so you can stride in it despite the length.
Fit
Cut long and easy, with room to layer over knitwear. There are no buttons: the front panels cross over and the coat is held by its own tie belt, so it wants to hang open unless you knot it. Worth knowing before you choose a size, the maker cuts the XS about ten centimetres shorter than the rest of the range. Full measurements are in the size guide next to the size selector.

- A coated finish can carry a faint new smell at first, hanging it in fresh air for a day or two settles it
