A burgundy coat cut close, and cut long
Burgundy is the colour the season keeps coming back to, and this is the shape that carries it. The coat follows the waist, then falls straight to the ankle. Seven matte horn buttons run from the chest to mid thigh, the notch lapels open into a clean V, and a narrow belt buckles at the back to draw everything in. The shoulder is built up and square, which is what gives the coat its line.
The cloth is dense and matte with a soft brushed nap, heavy enough to hang straight without a break. Over a fine knit it reads sharp. Over a dress it reads like something you had made.
Fit
Cut close through the waist with a built-up shoulder, so it layers over a shirt or a fine knit rather than a heavy jumper: take the next size up if you plan to wear it over chunky knitwear. The sleeve is cut narrow. Full measurements are in the size guide next to the size selector.

- Single-breasted front, seven matte horn buttons from the chest to mid thigh
- Notch lapel collar with an open V neckline
- Two flap pockets at the hip, both deep and usable
- Narrow self-fabric belt with a rectangular metal buckle, worn at the back
- Three buttons at each cuff
- Lined, plain straight hem, 132 to 134.5 cm from the shoulder depending on size
- The maker gives the composition as polyester. There is no composition label on the garment, so we quote the maker rather than claim a fibre of our own
- The maker recommends hand washing, no bleach, and hanging to dry
