A funnel neck coat that changes character with one button
The collar is the whole point. Fasten the button at the throat and it stands up as a proper funnel, closed against the wind. Undo it and the same band folds back into a wide, soft revers across the chest. One coat, two ways to wear it.
Cut long and easy in a brushed wool blend with a faint long-haired nap, double-breasted with four pairs of tonal horn buttons. The shoulders drop, the sleeves run wide and plain, and the front edge curves away so the hem moves as you walk. It is unlined, made from double-faced cloth finished on both sides, which is what keeps a coat this long from feeling heavy. Think of it as an autumn into winter layer over a jumper rather than a padded coat for the coldest week of the year.
Fit
Generously oversized, cut to go over a jumper. The garment bust runs 114 to 120 cm against a UK 8 to 14 fit, so there is room to layer without the coat losing its line. The shoulder measures 54 to 56 cm, which is deliberate: the seam sits down the arm rather than on the bone, and the sleeve is measured from there.
