A grey wool coat cut large and left to hang
The cloth is a double faced wool, woven as two layers held together so that both sides come out a finished face. The surface is brushed to a short soft nap, matte all the way through, and the front edges and the sleeve seams are closed with a fine saddle stitch you can pick out at close range. It is a soft cloth rather than a stiff one, so the coat falls from the shoulder instead of standing away from you.
The cut is deliberately large. The shoulder seam sits well down the arm, the sleeves are wide enough to go over a heavy jumper without fighting, and the body runs straight to mid calf, sixteen centimetres wider at the hem than at the chest on every size. It closes double breasted on six buttons in two rows of three, under wide notched lapels. There is no belt: the shape is meant to hang.
The pockets are set into the side seams, so nothing breaks the front. At the back a single centre seam runs the length of the coat and finishes in a short vent at the hem, which is what lets you walk in something this long.
Fit
Cut oversized, with roughly thirty centimetres of ease through the body, so take your usual size for the shape it is meant to have. Take the size below if you want it closer. The sleeves run long. The hem lands at mid calf on most heights, a little lower if you are shorter. Full measurements are in the size guide next to the size selector.

- Double faced brushed wool, so the inside of the collar and the cuffs is the same cloth as the outside
- Hand finished saddle stitch along the front edges and the sleeve seams
- Double breasted front, six flat four hole buttons in two rows of three, tonal to each colour
- Wide notched lapels on a turn down collar, dropped shoulders, wide straight sleeves, plain cut cuffs
- Two pockets set into the side seams, nothing on the chest
- Centre back seam with a short vent at the hem
- Length 113.5 cm in S to 119.5 cm in XXL, taken from the shoulder
- Professional dry clean only. Do not wash. Do not bleach. Cool iron. Hang to dry
