A long jean skirt in stretch denim, clean over the hip and then opened out by a godet panel let into the centre front.
The shape is made by seams, not by gathers. From the waistband the skirt runs straight over the hip, then a curved seam drops to a point around mid thigh and a triangular panel is let in below it. That panel is where the sweep comes from: the hem measures about one and a half times the width of the waistband, so the skirt walks well for its length. The waistband is the one you know from a pair of jeans, flat and topstitched, with five belt loops, a zip fly and a single plain metal button. There are three pockets, all at the front: two curved scoop pockets, with a small coin pocket stacked on the left-hand one. The denim has real stretch in it, which is what makes a skirt this long easy to move in. In Tanbark the topstitching is a shade of tan against the brown; in Gunmetal it sits tonal, and the wash lifts pale along the seams. Wear it with a fine knit tucked in and flat boots, or with a shirt and a jumper over the top.
The fit
This is a long skirt. It measures 93 cm on an XS and 97 cm on an XXL from the top of the waistband, which puts the hem at the ankle bone on most heights, with a little bare leg above a flat shoe. The waistband is flat and is not elasticated: the give is in the denim itself, and the maker says it opens a further 2 to 3 cm at the waist. Below the waistband the skirt sits close over the hip and then flares evenly to a level hem, with no slit and no vent, front or back. Six sizes, XS to XXL, which we read as UK 8 to UK 18. Two things worth knowing before you choose. The maker publishes no UK sizes at all, so the ones in the size guide next to the size selector are our own reading of its measurements. And the garment grades in even 4 cm steps where UK sizing moves in 5 cm steps, so the largest two sizes are cut close at the hip and lean on the stretch. The maker's own advice is that it runs true to size, and to take the next size up if you are between two sizes or want it looser.

The maker gives the fabric as cotton, polyester and elastane and publishes no percentages. None of its photographs shows a composition label, so we pass those fibres on as its own rather than confirming them
The maker does not say whether the skirt is lined, and none of its photographs shows the inside
Warm machine wash inside out and hang to dry, our own recommendation as the maker gives no care instructions
Measurements in cm. Waist and hip are the garment measured flat and doubled, so they are full circumferences. The waistband is not elasticated; the denim itself gives a further 2 to 3 cm at the waist. Length is from the top of the waistband. The UK sizes are our own reading of the garment, as the maker publishes none. Allow 1 to 3 cm.

The size guide next to the size selector gives the actual garment measurements in cm, and our pieces are cut true to size. If you are between sizes, sizing up gives an easier fit and matching the closer measurement gives a neater fit.
