Oversized Crew Neck Jumper in a Deep-Rib Boxy Knit
The Farmcote is the jumper you reach for when you want the day to be easy. A brushed yarn with a soft halo, a wide boxy body that stops at the high hip, and sleeves long enough to disappear over your hands.
Design and fabric
The yarn is brushed until a fine down stands away from the surface. That is where the halo comes from, and where the warmth comes from too: air held in the pile rather than weight held in the knit. The stitch sits under all of it, so the surface reads soft rather than technical. The structure is in the ribs. A narrow rib holds the round neck close to the collarbone, and a deep band of rib, roughly six centimetres, closes each cuff and the hem. There is nothing else to it: no zip, no buttons, no pockets.
How it wears
Cut wide through the body with the shoulder seams dropped well down the arm, it goes over a high waistband and stops there. Straight trousers, a long knitted skirt, or the jeans you already own. Thistledown is an off white with only a hint of warmth in it, so it sits happily beside camel, chocolate, charcoal and grey without arguing with any of them.
Fit
Deliberately oversized, boxy through the body and short in the length. The maker cuts the M and the L to the same generous measurements and grades them by UK size, so take the size you usually wear. Full garment measurements are in the Size guide, next to the size selector.
