The layer you pull off the hook on the way out and think about no further. One length of brushed double-faced cloth, open down the front, finished with a row of twisted fringing along the hem.
Cut and cloth
This poncho cape is made from a single piece of double-faced cloth, two faces bonded back to back, so it reads finished whichever way it falls and needs no lining. The face is brushed to a short soft nap, faintly heathered, with the quiet matte look of a good blanket. It sits over the shoulders, falls open down the centre front and drops away at the sides in two wide points. No sleeves, no fastening, no pockets. The whole piece is drape.
How it wears
Over a polo neck and straight trousers on a cold morning, or over a dress when a coat would be too much. The cloth has real weight to it, so it stays where you put it instead of sliding off the shoulder. The maker gives the cloth as 170 cm by 110 cm, generous enough to pull across the front and hold shut with one hand.
