A column that fastens the whole way down
Laverton is a maxi dress cut in a fine cotton rib. A soft V neck, a single row of matt square buttons running from the neckline down to just above the hem, and a straight column that falls to the ankle. The rib is fine rather than chunky, so from a step away it reads as a smooth knit rather than a jumper. The small amount of elastane in it is what lets a narrow column move at all.
The buttons are the point of it. Done up to the top it is one clean vertical line from throat to floor; left open at the hem it walks. Flat boots and a long coat through the cold months, bare legs and a sandal once it warms.
Fit
- Straight column: skims the body from shoulder to hem, widening only slightly through the skirt
- Ankle length, 132 cm from shoulder to hem on a size S
- Long sleeves to the wrist, finishing in a plain ribbed cuff
- The rib has a good stretch, so it sits close without pulling
- Runs true to size; between sizes, or for a looser line, size up
