Twist-Front Ruched Midi Dress in a Soft Rib Knit
The Stourton is a rib-knit midi dress that does the work of a tailored one. Long sleeves, a plain round neck, and a single twist of fabric at the waist that shapes the whole line. No belt, no buttons, no zip: you pull it on and you are dressed.
Design and fabric
Narrow vertical ribs run the full length of the dress and down the sleeves, so the knit skims and lengthens rather than clings. At the natural waist the fabric gathers into a self-fabric twist, set slightly off centre, pulling soft diagonal folds across the front and wrapping the skirt over itself. The back is left plain, which keeps the line quiet from behind. A straight split at the front hem makes a mid-calf length easy to walk in.
How it wears
It reads as considered on a work day and holds up for dinner afterwards. Wear it with ankle boots and a long coat, or with flats and a cardigan when the office is warm. Toffee is the heritage choice and the warmest of the four; Pebble is the quiet neutral; Ink Blue is the sharper alternative to black; Black is the one that never needs thinking about.
Fit
Close-fitting with a gentle stretch, cut to follow the body. The rib gives, but the shape is a true sheath: if you are between sizes, or prefer a little more room through the hip, take the larger size. Body measurements for each size are in the Size guide, next to the size selector.
