A satin midi skirt that finishes in a deep band of scalloped lace, cut long enough to move with you.
The cut
The skirt runs clean over the hip and widens only very gently towards the hem, so it falls as a soft column rather than a full A line. It sits high at the waist on a flat, narrow elasticated band, and there is nothing to fasten: no zip, no buttons, no hooks. Length runs 82 to 85 cm from the top of the waistband, which puts the hem just above the ankle bone on most people.
The lace
A deep border of fine floral lace is set into the whole hem, right the way round, in the same colour as the skirt. It is scalloped, with soft eyelash points along the lower edge, and the satin above it finishes in a gentle wave. Tonal rather than contrasting, so it reads as a finish and not as a trim stuck on the end.
The cloth
A true satin weave: lustrous on the face, matte on the reverse. It picks up the light in broad soft bands as you walk, which is what gives a plain skirt its interest. It hangs with weight and it does not cling.
Fit
Cut with room through the hip and pulled on at the waist. The labels are Asia sizing and run small against UK sizes, so go by the UK column. Full measurements are in the size guide, next to the size selector.
