The straight leg, in a winter cloth
Chedworth is the trouser for the months when a summer trouser gives up. A dense brushed twill, matte and quiet, cut to fall in a straight line from the pleat to the hem so the leg keeps its shape from the first coffee to the last train. The waistband is flat across the front and elasticated at the back, which is the part you feel and nobody sees.
Fit
High on the natural waist, with two deep pleats on each side that release into a straight leg of even width all the way to the hem. The regular length is cut to break on a flat shoe. This style runs small against UK sizes, so choose by your waist measurement rather than your usual label. Full measurements are in the size guide next to the size selector.

- Flat front waistband with a slim self-fabric tab through a small metal loop, fastened by one button
- Fully elasticated back waistband, so it pulls on and sits flat
- Two deep pleats on each side of a plain flat fly front
- Straight leg of even width from thigh to hem, with a pressed crease down each leg
- Two slanted side pockets, plain turned hem, no turn-ups
- Matte brushed twill with a fine diagonal weave, woven from polyester for a dense winter handle
- Regular length, 98 to 102 cm overall
- In Muscovado, a warm mid brown, Nougat, a soft tan, or Clotted Cream, a warm ivory
