A wide-leg trouser with a curved barrel leg, cut full and quiet
These wide-leg trousers are full where it matters and calm everywhere else. The rise is high and the waistband flat across the front, two soft pleats release the cloth over the hip, and the leg swells out through the thigh and knee before curving gently back in above the hem. It is a barrel line rather than a straight fall, which is what gives them their shape when you are standing still and their swing when you are not.
The cloth is a warm brushed weave with a short dense nap and almost no shine, heavy enough to hold the curve of the leg without pressing. The back and sides of the waistband are elasticated, so they pull on easily, while the front keeps a proper flat waistband with a button and zip. Wear them with a fine knit and a flat loafer, or with a boot and a long coat once it turns.
Fit
High rise, curved barrel leg, full length. The leg measures 72 cm round the thigh on a size M and closes to 52 cm at the hem, so the volume sits high on the leg and the ankle stays clean. The outside leg runs 104 cm, which falls to the top of the shoe and breaks softly over it. Sized M and L, which we map to UK 10 to 14. The elasticated back gives a good range at the waist, so take the smaller size if you are between two. Full measurements are in the size guide next to the size selector.
