A wool triangle scarf cut to sit flat on the shoulders
A triangle behaves differently from a rectangle. It lies down over the back instead of bunching at the neck, and the two ends fall where you want them, ready to cross at the front and knot. A hundred and ninety centimetres along the top edge, eighty deep to the point: enough to wear open over a coat, enough to fold in half and loop twice.
The knit is a fine flat jersey, lightly brushed, matte rather than hairy, and light for its size. There are no tassels and no fringing anywhere on it. The edges are closed with a narrow linked finish that keeps the three sides clean, which is what makes it read as a piece of knitwear rather than a length of cloth.
Wool, and undyed in two of the five
The maker's label reads 100% wool. We quote that as given rather than claim it as tested. Moleskin and Meringue are left undyed, so a few paler flecks run through the yarn: that is the fleece showing, not a flaw, and it is the reason those two shades sit a little differently in daylight to the four dyed colours.
